Hi, HashiCorp!
I’m Chris, and I’m thrilled to join the Terraform Enterprise team! I thought it might be nice to share a some random things about the weirdo behind the new avatar in Slack!
- Previously, I spent a formative part of my career at Red Hat, where I worked on ManageIQ, the open source cloud management platform behind Red Hat CloudForms. The majority of my time there was working on issues related to Ruby and Rails specifically; ManageIQ makes heavy use of Rails internals (Some ‘fun’ examples: 1, 2, 3 ), and keeping it on the bleeding edge of Rails and Ruby development was a top priority. I was also the technical lead on ManageIQ’s GraphQL API.
- Before I was in software, I was an orchestral clarinetist. I have lots of really terrifyingly embarrassing pictures of myself holding a clarinet, too.

I like backpacking and being outside, to balance out all the time spent staring at an LCD all day long.
- I live in White Bear Lake, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul) with my wife Emily and our 1 year old son, Elliot. Emily and I are actually from White Bear Lake originally; we moved out to Washington, D.C. for a few years before returning to the Cities a little over a year ago. We have a house on a pond, which brings me to…

I like hockey…too much. I never played growing up at all, but took it up for fun while I was in school at the University of Minnesota. I’m a big Wild fan, and play about twice a week year-round in AHA and a few beer leagues. I’m not good, it’s just fun!
Last year I was foolish enough to gather many of my developer friends who also play hockey and made a team that competed in the US Pond Hockey Championships, which sounds much more official and impressive than we really are. Our name? The Dangling Pointers
- I like building keyboards. Here’s my daily driver:
I’ve hit my introverted, self-conscious wall talking about myself so much, so I’ll stop there. I’m SUPER excited to meet you all!
